The W. M. Keck Earth Science and Mineral Engineering Museum, the Museum of Natural History and the Fleischmann Planetarium and Science Center at the University of Nevada, Reno has been nominated for a “Best of Sierra Nevada” award in the museums category again this year.
The Keck Museum earned third place in the “Best of Sierra Nevada” museums category after the competition began just one year before.
“It is a great honor to be recognized by our community in this way,” Mackay Mines Endowed Curator of the Keck Museum Garrett Barmore said of winning third place last year. “The Keck Museum not only preserves Nevada’s history, but it’s also a part of it.”
Each of the College of Science museums house unique objects that serve both research and outreach purposes.
